Careers at ASIFMA

Capital Markets & Securities Professionals:
Industry advisory and counselling opportunities on flexible terms.

Apply your legal or banking background to a new challenge.

Asia Securities Industry & Financial Markets Association (ASIFMA) is an association of market professionals that promotes the development of the debt capital and equity markets in Asia (ex-Japan) and their integration into the global financial system. A not-for-profit association funded by member subscriptions from major private sector banking and financial corporations, ASIFMA’s mission is to enhance the size, liquidity, integrity and transparency of local and regional OTC markets in fixed income securities, equities and other financial instruments. The establishment of ASIFMA in Hong Kong now creates a range of opportunities for legal and banking professionals from the Capital Markets and Securities business.

The roles on offer represent considerable intellectual challenge in working closely with senior officers of member companies to formulate and manage committees that seek to facilitate change and improvements by communicating to regulators the views of the industry, by sharing best practices, by creating informative industry fora and other initiatives beneficial to the markets in general. Specifically you will act as a legal, regulatory, market practice and policy advisor in the specific bond and equity market product sectors that are appropriate to your industry experience.

Openings exist at a range of levels, from senior roles that require strong product/industry knowledge gained from eight to 10 years’ legal experience, to analyst and administrative positions requiring two to three years’ relevant experience in the financial industry. The confidence and credibility to work with busy, senior level executives is vital, and you must have strong English skills, equivalent to native speaker competency, and preferably have proficiency in an Asian language.

Flexible working arrangements and terms, including the option to work on a part-time basis, can be offered to the right individuals.
