“A few days ago, the Asian Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (ASIFMA) released a major report analyzing the opportunities and challenges facing China’s capital market in a complex environment. “As China emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic, it is believed that China’s large and dynamic capital market will continue to transform and provide more investment opportunities for domestic and foreign investors,” said Luo Shengmei, CEO of ASIFMA.
         
It is understood that the report titled “China’s Capital Market: Market Transformation” gives nearly 150 suggestions on the transformation and development of China’s capital market. Among them, in terms of the Qualified Foreign Investor (QFI) system, the report recommends canceling the requirement for early funding, so that foreign institutional investors can fully share the benefits of the reform of cash-bank transactions. In addition, the report also recommends that all A-shares be included in the candidate stock pools of Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect and Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect, and that the access criteria for ETF Connect be lowered…”
