The symposium on EU-Asian capital markets regulation provided a unique opportunity for global, European and Asian policy makers, high-level industry influencers, leading academics and market representatives to meet and discuss important issues impacting the functioning of EU Asian trade, investment and capital markets.

The cornerstone of the Annual Symposium on EU-Asia Relations in Financial Services was the frank and open exchange of ideas between high-level participants. This dialogue took place in small group discussions and plenary sessions, as well as during networking events. Keynote addresses and panel discussions also served to initiate and enhance an interactive dialogue, which was conducted under the Chatham House Rule to foster an open exchange of ideas. Discussions were then summarised and presented on the final day of the Symposium in a plenary session.
