Ben leads ASIC’s Market Infrastructure team within ASIC’s Markets group. His team is responsible for supervisory and policy work in respect of clearing and settlement facilities, and securities and derivatives markets. Ben’s portfolio is responsible for the supervision of Australian market licensees and operators, clearing and settlement facilities, Australian derivative trade repository operators, benchmark administrators and credit rating agencies.

Ben has extensive experience at ASIC, including in strategic planning, intelligence and regulatory efficiency. He has held previous roles in the Market Infrastructure and Market Supervision teams, including as Group Senior Manager for Market Conduct in Market Supervision.

Ben previously worked in the United States for the Futures Industry Association, a global trade organisation for the futures, options and centrally cleared derivatives markets, and for the United Kingdom Financial Conduct Authority, focusing on over-the-counter derivatives market reforms. Ben started his career as a supervisor at the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority. He has a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) from the University of Sydney and a Masters in Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
