Beng Hwa Tan is the Director and Head of the Market Conduct Investigations Division I, within the Enforcement Department at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). The Division investigates serious conduct-related breaches of laws administered by the MAS’ Capital Markets Group, which include the Singapore Securities and Futures Act and the Financial Advisers Act. Beng Hwa had worked in other areas in the MAS. He had served as the Head of divisions that supervised exchanges, financial market infrastructures and capital markets intermediaries. Beng Hwa joined MAS from the Commercial Affairs Department of the Singapore Police Force, where he had managed criminal investigations involving market abuses and complex financial crimes.
