  • Current position: Head of the trade section EU Office to Hong Kong & Macau (since 20 August 2018)
  • Profile: Spanish national, lawyer by training, specialised in EU law.
  • Work experience: Joined the EU in 1998, held various positions in the European Commission working on competition, research and development and in the cabinets of two EU Commissioners before moving to trade. Worked on trade the last 6 years doing strategy first and then leading the China desk of DG Trade in Brussels (in charge of coordinating EU trade & investment relations with China).
  • Languages: Spanish, English, French, German (unfortunately just a few words of Putonghua and no Cantonese)
