As senior policy and communications manager at the European Chamber, Jacob leads on a variety of publications, media issues, policy analysis and high-level messaging. Jacob has led on key European Chamber publications, including the annual Executive Position Paper, the Chamber’s joint report with MERICS – Decoupling: Severed Ties and Patchwork Globalisation, the BRI-focused thematic report – The Road Less Travelled, and a variety of Local Position Papers, all while contributing heavily to the annual Business Confidence Survey, both in drafting the questionnaire and in the final report’s analysis. Prior to working at the European Chamber, Jacob completed his Master’s degree in international studies at the Johns Hopkins-Nanjing University Centre for Sino-American Studies where he developed a high level of fluency in Mandarin through standard coursework and a thesis written in Chinese. He has spent nearly nine years in China and has worked at the European Chamber office in Beijing since 2017.
