John Groesbeek
Acting Deputy Treasurer & Head Syndications – Asia Pacific

John Groesbeek is the IFC Acting Deputy Treasurer in Singapore and in this role oversees all IFC Treasury activities for the Asia Pacific region. This includes the liquid asset portfolio, funding program, cash management, treasury client solutions, syndications and quantitative analyses.
John is also IFC Head Syndications Asia. Further to the B loan program mainly used with commercial banks, the team works with DFIs/multilaterals and local lenders, and through the new MCPP program with institutional investors.
John started his career at ABNAMRO in 1993 where he worked in the Debt Capital Markets team inAmsterdam, Singapore and New York. In 2001 he moved to IFC Treasury and worked on IFC’s bondfunding program and investor marketing globally. Amongst others he was responsible for the opening of the domestic bond markets for foreign entities in Brazil, Colombia, Peru and Morocco. Subsequently he moved to Syndications where he managed the Latin America team before moving to Asia in 2012.
John holds a degree in Banking and Finance from the Amsterdam Academy, an advanced RBA degree in Portfolio Management and he participated in the YMP program at INSEAD.
