Navina Balasingam is General Manager and Head of International Affairs at the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC Malaysia), where she is responsible for managing, coordinating and advancing SC Malaysia’s international regulatory engagement, cooperation and policy influence.

Her role involves overseeing international bilateral and multilateral engagements with foreign regulators, multilateral organisations, international financial institutions and key market stakeholders. In this role she brings global insights and discussions to inform domestic policy formulation and regulatory decisions and oversees international agreements — such as information-sharing arrangements and cooperative frameworks- with foreign counterparts.

Navina oversees the IOSCO Asia Pacific Hub, a regional centre for capacity building in Kuala Lumpur established by IOSCO.

In her previous role, Navina was General Manager of Capital Markets Malaysia, the international promotion and market development arm of SC Malaysia where she led engagements with capital market regulators, intermediaries, investors, and market participants both in Malaysia and internationally and supported the development and global positioning of Malaysia’s capital market.
