Mrs. Pornanong Budsaratragoon also serves as: Commissioner and Secretary of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Chairman of the capital market supervisory board of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Member of the financial institutions policy committee of the Bank of Thailand and Commission member of the Office of Insurance Commission.
Mrs. Pornanong Budsaratragoon is a distinguished professional with a robust academic background and extensive academic and regulatory experience. She holds a BBA in quantitative analysis from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, an MBA in management of information systems from the University of Dallas, the United States, and a DBA in finance from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. Her tenure at the Securities and Exchange Commission showcases her leadership, serving as the board member of the capital market supervisory board, chair of the sub-committee on consideration of regulations on issuance and offering of debt securities, derivatives, and structured products, chair of the sub-committee on consideration of regulations on supervision of business and market intermediaries, and member of the sub-committee on consideration of regulations on asset management.
Prior to her current role, Mrs. Pornanong held the position of a full-time professor at Chulalongkorn University. In addition to heading the banking and finance department, she chaired the committee of the Master of Science program in corporate governance, faculty of commerce and accountancy. Her academic prowess is evident through the publication of numerous textbooks and research studies.
Mrs. Pornanong’s influence also extends to key institutions such as the Agricultural Futures Exchange of Thailand, the Stock Exchange of Thailand, the Institute Council Thai-Nichi Institute of Technology, the Office of the Higher Education Commission, and the National Savings Fund. Her multifaceted contributions underscore her integral role in shaping Thailand’s academic and economic landscapes.
