Mr. Shihan Abeyguna holds the dual role of Managing Director for Southeast Asia and Head of Business Development for Morningstar Asia. Based in Singapore, he is responsible for Morningstar’s business strategy and growth for the Asia region. Shihan works with asset managers, banks, insurance companies and financial technology firms to provide sustainable investing solutions, data analytics, research, strategic beta and multi asset solutions to help drive their efforts for better investor outcomes. In his 15+ years at Morningstar, Shihan has served in several capacities including product, strategy and sales leadership roles. Prior to his current position, he was based in Hong Kong as a Product Manager responsible for product strategy, development, and execution of Morningstar’s data analytics solutions. Before that, he was based at Morningstar’s headquarters in Chicago serving as a Product Manager responsible for the development of Morningstar’s wealth management software solutions. Shihan’s major areas of interest include sustainable investing and finance, global asset management trends, wealth management solutions, financial technology and behavioural science. Shihan holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Computer Science from Grinnell College and a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
