Toshio Tsuiki is currently Deputy Secretary General of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision. Prior to assuming the position in April 2017, he was Deputy Director General in the Financial System and Bank Examination Department of the Bank of Japan. He also served on the Basel Committee Secretariat from 2008-2012.

He has held various other positions within the Bank of Japan including Head of International Division in the Financial System and Bank Examination Department, Head of Market Research Group, Private Secretary to the Deputy Governor and Representative in Europe located in London.

Mr Tsuiki holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an LLB from the University of Tokyo.
