Ugo Bassi is the Director for Financial Markets at DG FISMA since May 2016. His department covers corporate reporting, audit and credit agencies, financial market infrastructure, securities markets and asset management. Mr Bassi is also an expert on sustainable finance.

Mr Bassi has had an extensive career at the European Commission and was Director for Capital and Companies, focusing on coordination of legal matters and economic analysis within DG FISMA. He also worked as Head of the Asset Management Unit and of the Public Procurement Unit.

Before joining the European Commission, Mr Bassi worked at the EU Court of Justice.
