Rishi is a senior markets practitioner, with almost 20 years’ experience in global markets across multiple products and fields, having previously lived and worked in Sydney and Hong Kong. Rishi brings to ASIFMA a deep understanding of capital markets and the financial market value chain, together with unique insights and perspectives gained from APAC-wide industry positions and a wide stakeholder base, including extensive advocacy experience with national, regional and global regulators.

Rishi was previously with the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) in Sydney, where he was responsible for all stakeholder and regulator engagement, communications and market outreach on ASX’s cornerstone post-trade transformation initiatives in the areas of technology and pricing. Prior to that, he was Head of Government Affairs (Australia/Japan/New Zealand/Pacific Islands) for Binance in Sydney, where he was the lead for regulatory affairs, government relations, advocacy and public policy initiatives across the web3, crypto and digital asset ecosystem for the world’s largest crypto exchange. Rishi also worked for the Australian Financial Markets Association (AFMA), where he was Director of Policy and responsible for helping to lead AFMA’s efforts and initiatives across a wide range of public policy fronts including crypto, licensing matters, ESG, sustainable finance, fintech, reporting, benchmarks reform, capital, clearing and margin, derivatives, markets infrastructure regulation and resilience.
