Antoine Van Cauwenberge is Head of International Relations and Sustainability Policy at the Financial Services and Markets Authority of Belgium (FSMA) and Secretary of the FSMA Supervisory Board. He also serves as a Board Member of the Belgian Audit Oversight College.

He brings many years of extensive experience at the international and global level in financial regulation and supervision. He is the FSMA’s alternate member of the Board of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) and is actively involved in the work of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), including previously as Alternate Member of the ESMA Board of Supervisors.

He has represented Belgium in EU Council Working Parties, contributing to negotiations on major EU financial legislation, including MiFID.

At the global level, he is involved in international oversight bodies for financial and sustainability reporting and audit, and actively contributes to international cooperation on supervision, enforcement, and regulatory policy.

He holds LL.M. degrees in Law and EU Law from Ghent University and a Master of Economics in Business Management from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). He has authored publications and delivered presentations on financial law, financial markets, and regulatory policy.
