Akira Kawashima is Managing Director and Deputy Head of Solution Products Division for MUFG, based in Tokyo.

Akira joined Bank of Tokyo (currently MUFG) in 1994. He has nearly 20 years of securitisation experience, over 8 years in Japan and 11 years in the U.S. He started his securitisation career with MUFG Tokyo office as a marketer and structurer of securitised products for large multinational and domestic corporates, spanning a wide range of asset classes. He was most recently responsible for running securitisation team in the Americas between 2013 and 2018, mainly through its two ABCP conduits.

Akira has an MBA from Stern School of New York University and a BA in Economics from Keio University, Japan.
