Linan Liu is a Managing Director, Head of Greater China Macro Strategy based in Hong Kong. She has been with Deutsche Bank since 2009, and she is primarily responsible for providing macro strategy research on the Greater China local currency FIC markets and recommending strategies on asset allocation for global institutional investors, multinational corporations as well as governments and multilateral agencies. Her work on China financial reforms, capital account liberalization and RMB internationalization has been widely cited and published. Linan started as an EM Macro Strategist at Credit Suisse Group based in New York and London in 2000, where she provided investment research in the emerging market (Latin America, EEMEA and Asia) hard currency and local currency fixed income markets till 2007. She relocated to Hong Kong in late 2007 and ran Asia local currency fixed income research at Morgan Stanley during 2007-2009. Ms. Liu is frequently quoted in the financial media, including Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Euroweek, Bloomberg, Reuters, CNBC, Caixin, Xinhua News etc. Linan holds a B.A from Peking University, a MPhil in Economics from New York University and a Master’s from Columbia University.
