Steve Chiu joined Principal Hong Kong as chief executive officer, asset management in 2022.

Chiu is responsible for the overall strategic direction and Leadership of business operations within Hong Kong, focusing on the development and distribution of products to meet the unique needs of Hong Kong investors.

Prior to joining Principal, Chiu served as senior vice president and head of Hong Kong retail at PIMCO Asia. Earlier in his career, he held roles at Manulife, Bosera Asset Management, AIA Wealth Management, HSBC, and Invesco, focused on a variety of functions including retail,sales and marketing, investments, and client solutions.

Chiu received his bachelor’s degree in Science from the University of Hong Kong and his master’s degree in Business Administration from the HKUST Business School. Chiu is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He was also the Chairman of The Institute of Financial Planners of Hong Kong (IFPHK) during 2018 -2020.
